“Greetings and thank you for boarding flight “1 Life to Flight”
I am your pilot, and we will be traveling non-stop to beautiful Peaceland.”
Son,
Something cool about Mommy you probably didn’t know is, Mommy’s a pilot.

This letter pens a sting yet soft message that it’s okay, you will be ok!
I needed this. The plans we have for ourselves sometimes scare us but the determination and bravery is what we bare! Thank you for spotlighting what anxiety and depression looks/feels like and how to feel better.
I’m wishing you so well.
@mariah_murphy Mariah, you are so right. Things will be OK. And there is a bigger plan that you may not be able to see in the moment. You sound incredibly kind and so strong. I am so proud of your compassion, perseverance, and perspective. I hope these days you are feeling better, and finding healthy ways to cope, heal, and empower yourself. You…read more
Mira this was beautiful! I fondly remember times when I would put everything and everybody above myself. I was quiet, no goals no dreams just candidly getting through life. Your letter inspired the 15-18 year old in Me. This letter speaks hope, adventure and self awareness. So awesome!! I wish you well.

I still do put others before myself, but I am more selective about it now. I totally feel just trying to get through life thats me now. I need to make some goals. My teenage self had more life goals than me. Thanks for your comment. I’m glad it helped you remember your teenage self as well.
Awww Mira, you sound like such a kind and sweet soul (then and now). It is so empowering and freeing when you let go of what other people think, stand up for yourself, and create some serious boundaries. I am proud of who you are but also proud of who you were… Your heart is pure. And those friends you do have in your circle are lucky to have…read more
Loved this!! My favorite line is “these streets will never break you” I felt that with everything in Me. It’s tough being around crime and dangerous areas and filled with self doubt. You’re amazing and I wish uou so very well!!
To whom Gie may concern,
You were always enough. And forever be enough.
Throughout the teenage phase, at times when life played rough, you tried hard navigating the highs and lows and subtracting the good vs bad ratios that played heavy in math class while you nervously snuck a taste of hot Cheetos.
Hot cheetos, you always somehow mustered up…read more
I totally forgot about the wanting to wear what everyone else was wearing. I remember trying to find the knock off clothes that looked similar to everyone’s real brand clothes to make myself fit in because i couldnt afford the real thing. Not that I really did. I stopped caring about my clothes in high school. I was more interested in getting into…read more
@miraculous88@giesantana As Mira said, I took forgot about how much I cared about being a part of the “in thing” and making sure I had what everyone had or wanted. High school and middle school are such funny times. All we want to do is grow up and be cool. Then we grow up and we realize we were pretty cool all along and we just want to hold on…read more
Thank you so incredibly much Lauren. Some days I don’t feel connected to much of anything but I appreciate you noticing and adoring my creative efforts. Thank you and the Unsealed family. This is one of my favorite families!! ☺️
After watching the beauty that is Mary Poppins float gracefully through a sketched painting I had a great feeling about life. Growing up this was more than a movie, more than the collective chemistry of an amazing actress. I felt whenever I was sick I could surely take a spoonful of sugar to help the medicine go down and I would…read more
Gie, This is an absolutely wonderful piece. It’s amazing how characters from a movie or show can give us the hope, or guidance we need at that moment. This line from your piece is everything, “Mary, you taught Me how to belly laugh without a care, and how gravity does not define us for we are all free to flop, feel, fail and celebrate ourselves…read more

At 32 the men around Me were still crying and Im sure your Grandparents cried at 42 and 52 and so on and so forth. We have to come to grips with the reality of dropping “gender specific roles and behaviors”, we are all human and allowed to express ourselves positively as such. Keep allowing them the space to cry, to be tucked in to express…read more
Never be nervous about sharing your craft. Social media has its amazing benefits like the creation and widespread of this Unsealed family, however it is never to be used to take away from the essence of one self and you captured that so well in your piece. 🙂
Thank you so much Gie Santana. I really appreciate you taking the time to read it and tell us your thoughts in the comments. I’m new here but I’m excited to make some new friends, read some interesting stories and poems, and do one of my favorite things; have conversations with strangers.<3 It's really easy to think that my ideas are too wild for…read more
I agree. Social media can make you feel so much worse or if you are not doing enough in your life. I often take social media breaks they are refreshing for Me and a good way to stay grounded.
Agreed! I think people are just starting to take the impact of social media seriously, realizing that we all need a time to unplug and recharge. People often don’t want to be alone with their thoughts, but sometimes that’s what we need to learn about who we are, where we’re from, and where we want to go. But at the same time, makeup artists on…read more
Wow! A powerful yet very candid piece! “They don’t understand
how social media can be physically isolating;” Very very true. Often times we get so lost in the hooplah of social media that we forget to live we forget to create our own tangible memories. Thank you for this keep soaring!
I am so glad you liked it! I poured my heart and soul into this poem! I was really nervous about sharing it because you rarely hear about social media, and the internet in general, from this perspective. I’m so happy you were able to take something away from it and carry it with you. I will keep soaring as best I can, and thank you again. It means…read more

Kale, I wished it were all as simple as you so wonderfully wrote in your letter. Exchanging the weapons for an act of gratitude and the homelessness situation under control would be ideal. I too agree EVEVRYONE should have a decent place to lay their heads. Great poem!
Love is so sacred. I love the depth of your poem. “Sweet nothings, truly mean nothing.”
I resonated with that line the most. I feel we are often told many things verbally but without action. Thanks for your read Ama! 🙂
Thank you so much, Gie. That line inspired the whole poem funny enough. Definitely treating love as a verb instead of a noun these days. Especially after reading Belle Hooks “All About Love”.
lady jay I like this piece is it aiming for peace! What does the change ultimately look or feel like for you? What changes if any would you make within self to help achieve the goal? 🙂
Thank you, Definitely change looks like peace and understanding to me, despite peoples differences. change looks like respect and openness to learning others perspective, I plan to advocate for change, be an example for young woman, and continue to expand my own understanding.
Your poem is so inspiring. Especially for raising the next generation of men. I have 2 boys and at the age of 2 their grand parents say he’s too big to be crying. At 2! It’s so frustrating. Yes they deserve flowers too. They deserve to show emotion without judgement.

Gie this excellent. I love the idea of saying men need flowers as a way to represent this idea that men have a soft side too and need to be treated tenderly. It’s so true that we need to allow men to be vulnerable and let their emotions out. I love this poem! Thank you for sharing! <3 Lauren
Thank you so much Lauren. Immensely thankful for the platform to be able to express something so deep and near to Me and my community. I pray someday I am awarded the honor of reading my letter to Ralph and his family.
Your heart is so beautiful. Never change! I am really grateful you are part of our community and you share your heart with all go us. Keep being you. It’s wonderful! <3Lauren
Dear Universe,
It happened in my city. My beloved home state of Missouri.
Right down quite a few blocks and around a corner or two, it happened.
The amount of fear and rage that circulated through me felt like a time warp.
I felt helpless and did the only thing I knew to do.
I hurriedly jumped up and peeped in at my young child, nestled on…read more

Yesss!!! Definitely takes a bunch of strength and the outcome can be scary because you just never know how you will feel about it in it’s different stages. Thank you so much , I hope your hair is a lavish as you are in whatever form its currently in! 🙂
Oh Lauren, I am surely trying! It’s been a feat for Me to say the least. But once I had let go of constantly pulling at my hair I felt stronger more amped to take control of my life and I pray SO MUCH that, that strength I have harvested within self is stronger than any demons.
Incredibly thankful for you and the Unsealed family.
Love… Love is so sacred and beautiful in it’s many many forms. I loved this piece , perfect and delicate in this day and age. I pray for peace and love to light your aura so that you are able to present it so freely into the universe. Thank you so so much for sharing!!
