This is so beautiful. I can visualize the imagery here. Thank you so much for sharing your words. This poem is a reminder to never let anyone shake your confidence <3 lauren
Your poem beautifully captures the image of a captivating dancer and explores the contrast between her outward beauty and the deeper meaning and spirituality within her. The way you describe her movements and the imagery of her dress flying like a parachute adds a sense of grace and elegance to the scene.
As I’ve done on the first day of each month for the last three years, I write a poem to welcome in the new month. It’s crazy to think that five months have already passed, and so much has happened since 2023 began. With his loving hands, he unfolds the perfect moment

Hi,
I’m flabbergasted by belief as it mirrors mine. However, your wording and imagery are unforgettable as they leave a mark of hope in my soul. Never stop writing!
I used to feel like Twitter was a playground for adult bullies. It was exhausting. I like spaces where I can express myself in full and let out all of my thoughts. Thank you for sharing <3 Lauren
Definitely. It was a great niche space I was in and I loved the people (no bullies thankfully) but I noticed I was spending my inspiration writing tweets instead of writing projects like books or short stories or full poems. It was like having the quick satisfaction of putting out a short thought was overtaking actually doing the work of something…read more

Your poem is so inspiring. Especially for raising the next generation of men. I have 2 boys and at the age of 2 their grand parents say he’s too big to be crying. At 2! It’s so frustrating. Yes they deserve flowers too. They deserve to show emotion without judgement.
At 32 the men around Me were still crying and Im sure your Grandparents cried at 42 and 52 and so on and so forth. We have to come to grips with the reality of dropping “gender specific roles and behaviors”, we are all human and allowed to express ourselves positively as such. Keep allowing them the space to cry, to be tucked in to express…read more
I absolutely agree with you. Men deserve to be appreciated, acknowledged, and celebrated just as much as women do. I want to see change, wonder if things remain the same
will it come like a thief in the night
maybe we will go out with a bang

lady jay I like this piece is it aiming for peace! What does the change ultimately look or feel like for you? What changes if any would you make within self to help achieve the goal? 🙂
This poem is so deep with meaning. I appreciate your words of wisdom with rhetorical questions. You are speaking the change. You are living the change. I see freedom from the chains!!
Change can come in various forms and often occurs through collective efforts and perseverance. While it may seem uncertain or even daunting, the desire for change is often fueled by the belief in a better future.
I don’t want to see any change in the world. “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” the cliché quote from Mahatma Gandhi, is something that will never be old but how many times can one truly hear this quote?
I’ve heard it so many times, my body feels cold when I hear it again. Why do I feel cold—chills? I don’t want to see a change in th…read more
The cold chills from hearing Gandhis quote is because it’s speaking to your soul. You can feel it in your bones what you need to do. The chills is the body acknowledging the truth.
It sounds like you’re feeling overwhelmed by the state of the world and have a negative view of it. It’s understandable to feel that way at times, especially when bombarded with negative news and issues. However, it’s important to remember that there are still positive aspects and beautiful places in the world, as you mentioned.
Love is so sacred. I love the depth of your poem. “Sweet nothings, truly mean nothing.”
I resonated with that line the most. I feel we are often told many things verbally but without action. Thanks for your read Ama! 🙂
Thank you so much, Gie. That line inspired the whole poem funny enough. Definitely treating love as a verb instead of a noun these days. Especially after reading Belle Hooks “All About Love”.
I hate to say it but in high school I had no idea what love was. My parents never showed me how to treat the man you love. It was nothing but yelling and cursing each other out. Now as a married woman i cherish love with all my might.
thanks so much for replying. you’re not alone. i’m post undergrad and going back to school and still don’t know. that’s the beauty of the journey though.
It seems like you’re expressing a sense of disillusionment and disappointment with the current state of love and relationships in society. It can be disheartening to witness a lack of genuine love, sincerity, and meaningful connections. It’s understandable to long for a world where love is more authentic, where people genuinely care for one…read more
this is a perfect summary of the feeling I was capturing. it feels like as a society we’ve collectively decided that rejection makes love unfulfilling. it saddens me that we’ve gotten to a point where we’ve just all kind of shrugged out shoulders to genuine connection or don’t stand too close to the microphone as a hopeless romantics.
It’s understandable that you feel saddened by the perceived shift in society’s attitude towards genuine connection and love. In a world that often values individualism and self-preservation, the vulnerability and risk involved in forming deep connections can sometimes be met with hesitation or even rejection. The fear of rejection can indeed lead…read more

Kale, I wished it were all as simple as you so wonderfully wrote in your letter. Exchanging the weapons for an act of gratitude and the homelessness situation under control would be ideal. I too agree EVEVRYONE should have a decent place to lay their heads. Great poem!
What you speak of is a utopian that I hope one day we can experience. I agree that every deserves a decent place to lay their head and a simple compliment can change someone’s day.
You’re absolutely right that changing the world can seem like a daunting task, especially when faced with the negative aspects and challenges that exist. It’s true that people have different perspectives, beliefs, and priorities, which can make it difficult to find common ground and work towards positive change.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. My words are the source of hope to spread love into the world. Hopeful that one day we can rid our world of violence and hate.
You’re welcome! Your words indeed carry a powerful message of hope and love, and they have the potential to inspire positive change in the world. I love that you put your childhood perspective in this poem and followed up with what the world is and how we are in the midst of change. Thank you for sharing.
“The Change I See In Us” beautifully expresses a sense of longing for a world where harmony, empathy, and coexistence prevail. It acknowledges the current pain and challenges faced by many individuals, but also recognizes the resilience and power of people coming together to bring about positive change.
It is a shame that we shame a woman who feels what she feels between her legs when a man aware of his power is there because she was never afforded that comfort, first, in her father’s arms: so now she feels safe in a devil’s charm.

Your words beautifully express a longing for a different world, one that embraces genuine human connection, emotional growth, and a sense of peace within oneself. It’s understandable to yearn for a world where the fear of missed opportunities doesn’t hold us back and where the moments we cherish are tangible and lived fully.
In a world where there is many
No change is as significant
Dear one
I am but a mere human
Forgive and always remember
For although out of the many we are but one
Everyday struggles surround us
Rivers of tears a many
Eager once more
Nurture one other
Change such as this must occur for
Everyday struggles surround us
This short poem speaks volumes on change. We are all just human. Being human unifies us we need to remember that. Thank you so much for sharing this poem. <3
In a world where there are countless individuals, it is true that each person’s change and growth are significant. We are all imperfect humans, prone to making mistakes and facing struggles. But it is essential to forgive ourselves and others, for forgiveness allows us to move forward and remember the inherent value in every person.
