  • The Youth

In the bloom of youth, we tread a path unsure,
Early twenties, where dreams and doubts endure.
With passion ablaze and aspirations high,
We chase dream that we hope take flight.

Through freedom, we find our stride,
Exploring the world, with nothing to hide.
Yet shadows linger, whispers of the past,
Reminders of moments too fleeting to last.

In this chapter of life, a tale unfolds,
Of lessons learned, and stories yet untold.
We stumble, we rise, in this journey we roam,
In our early twenties, we seek our home.

So embrace the chaos, the laughter, and tears,
For in this moment, we conquer our fears.
In the canvas of youth, let our colors unfurl,
In the canvas of youth, let’s paint our world.

    Trust God's Timing

    In life where moments intertwine
    There’s a thread called trust
    In God’s timing divine
For in his design, he holds a plan
With his loving hands, he unfolds the perfect moment

When doubts drives your heart, patience wanes
But remember that he hears your prayers and that they are not in vain
With days uncertain, paths remain unclear
When there’s faith, surrender all your fears

For what may seem a delay is a chance to grow, embrace each lesson received so God nurtures your soul
Like seeds down in darkness, hidden beneath the ground
Through each season of waiting, trust his provision

As winter cast your heart with ice
The warmth and shift of spring delivers a promise
    HIS promise that endures forever
Knowing your summer shines bright with all that you’ve asked for
Falling into fall where as the leaves change colors so does your life

    Trust God’s Timing
Embrace the waiting like the seasons
As his guiding light orchestrates the show
    Like a symphony

  • Worth It

    Dear younger me,

As I sit here and reflect upon the years that have passed, I am filled with a surge of emotions and a desire to reach out to you. There is so much I want to share with you, but above all, I want you to know that you are worth of moment in this lifetime. Yes, you, with all your flaws, insecurities, and doubts. You are worthy of love, respect, and happiness, and being the ish!

I know there are days when you look in the mirror and struggle to see your own worth. You compare yourself to others, measuring yourself against impossible standards. But let me tell you, my dear younger self, worthiness is not defined by appearance, achievements, or external validation. Your worth lies within your very being, in the unique and beautiful essence that makes you who you are.

You have dreams, passions, and aspirations that sometimes feel too grand to be within your reach. But let me assure you, you are capable, you are deserving, and you are enough. Embrace your talents, nurture your skills, and pursue your goals with unwavering determination. Do not let the voice of doubt drown out the whispers of your dreams. You have the power to make them a reality.

As you navigate the intricate tapestry of life, my teenage self, hold your head high and embrace your worth. You have a voice that deserves to be heard, ideas that deserve to be shared, and a presence that has the power to make a difference. You are worthy of happiness, success, and all the beautiful things life has to offer.

So as I conclude this letter I applaud that you walk forward with confidence, knowing that you are capable of any and everything beyond measure. Embrace the journey ahead, believe in yourself, and never let anyone or anything dim your light. You are deserving, you are valuable, and you are absolutely, unquestionably worthy.

    With love and unwavering belief,

    Your Older Self

  • Where Darkness is No More

In shadows deep where darkness danced,
    A world embroiled, entranced,
A tapestry woven with crimson threads,
Of crimes committed and fears widespread.

But winds of change now sweep the land,
A shifting tide, a humble demand,
For crimes and violence to be no more,
A longing for peace at the heart’s core.

Once rampant streets, now touched by light,
A dawn breaking, banishing the night,
The echoes fade of sirens’ wail,
As hope emerges, a mighty sail.

Gone are the days of reckless feud,
Where anger and hatred tightly brewed,
In its place, compassion blooms anew,
Love’s gentle touch, a vibrant hue.

The ripples of change, a gentle cascade,
Across every city and peaceful glade,
    A chorus rising, voices entwined,
    Declaring unity, leaving none behind.

    Communities united, hand in hand,
    Building bridges, a harmonious band,
    Empathy reigns, healing the soul,
As empathy’s power takes its toll.

No longer confined by walls of fear,
    Where shadows whispered, danger near,
A future bright, where children play,
With dreams unburdened, each passing day.

Oh, let this poem be a testament,
To the strength within us, resolute and bent,
To shape a world where crimes decrease,
And violence transforms, finds its release.

May compassion guide our every stride,
As we rewrite the story, side by side,
For in our hearts, the power lies,
To herald change, where love defies.

So let us join, hearts intertwined,
    A tapestry stitched, beautifully designed,
Where crimes and violence cease to be,
And a world of peace becomes reality.

  • You Can Handle It

Dear future me, I hope life is treating you well. I know you’re living by the scripture Luke 1:45 cause you can handle all things that come your way, or… can you? I know that somewhere along your lifeline you think life is failing you right now. Probably going to have an anxiety attack again or even shutting the world out again. But isn’t this something you haven’t handled before?

A lesson in contrast, life has been exciting, wild, entertaining, boring, unanticipated, and expected. You’ve managed to wear glitter every single day despite your ongoing insecurities, and hey, that’s kind of a success, right? You wake up each day praising God through daily devotionals and living life to the best of its ability. You have a wonderful relationship with your family and friends, and are doing better than how you were before. The times we were bullied, carrying a lot of sadness and depression and staying in hotels are past us. It’s Nothing you can’t handle! It’s terrific that you get to spend time outside in one of the most breathtaking locations on the planet and that you’re in the best form of your life thus far. I hope that traveling grace has been given unto you bigger and better than ever. Remember you’re just going to get cooler as you get older. And you have a wonderful job doing what you absolutely love, and that’s telling stories. As of right now your story is being told in the eyes of the main character which is you.

Despite the frustration and thinking you don’t have it all together doesn’t mean that the world is ending. You are moving toward greatness at your own pace through all of your dreams, and with your nice bank account that you’ve hopefully accumulated by now (let’s pray). Please understand that it’s going to be okay and It’s nothing you couldn’t handle.

    You got this!

    • Ravien, I totally agree with you. There is nothing you can’t handle. You have already proven to yourself that you can persevere through very difficult things, so what can stop you now? NOTHING! Don’t worry about having it all together. No matter how much it looks like everyone else has it all together, no one really ever does. Once you figure one…read more
