    Your Eyes Sound Like

A lot of guys get lost in your eyes
But I found myself in those depths that galaxies rest in
Your eyes hug stars and sprinkle glitter for their shimmer when the sun wants to shine
I didn’t know it then but when momma would sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star it was a love song
Because I’m one of the dots to your constellation and the others are the children
Our love is so good it should be a sin
God forgive me, I know I’m not supposed to look directly at you
But your daughter has your eyes, and I can’t stop staring
She helps me stay centered with you when I get full of myself
Seeing my reflection in her eyes is one of my favorite things because it’s a moment of Trinity
God eyes saying straighten up son
Your eyes whisper I love you
My eyes catch us with His hands and say I’ll hold your heart
Followed by, I love you too
Our eyes share an embrace that never let’s go in silence
But anyone who sees the way I look at you hears the softness of a love song
They covet the way my eyes hold you like I hold the hand of our child
Their eyes have never seen a sight that sounded so pure
And anyone who sees the way your eyes reply to me, listens to that unforgettable poem on repeat
Then they get lost trying to find your gaze under my sunset
So, the closest thing to feeling that poem, is to hit repeat on this memory
I can’t help but smile when I see your eyes talk about us
p.s. your eyes make the best ASMR…

    Welcome, August

    Dear, Unsealers:

The first day of August is heading into the evening hours.

Eight months into 2024?! Time’s picking up speed as the days move along.

As I tend to do at the first or so of every month, I write a poem to welcome in the new month. The dog days of summer are here…

A welcome to the month of August
31 new days in the heart of summer

For the dog days are here
Where it feels like one day morphs into the next

    Although the calendar is blank
There’s still reason to look forward

From the tail end of the Olympics
To the Premier League’s return and the US Open’s first serve
With plenty of room for so much more to be done

    When August ends
All roads will lead to a long weekend getaway
From concrete buildings in NYC, out to the Newport shores

    I'm no fool...

I walked in the house-huge it was,
    seems I walked for miles.
May a church mouse-full of love,
    Begetting me on trial?

What are you doing here-I heard,
Why such the long face without smile?
    Then at the top-I overheard,
“Child, be thankful for the whiles.”

I thought, “How silly-in the kitchen here,
    What a great-aged bottle of wine…
Sure would taste good-I wish I could,
Drink the sweet of this vine”!

    Then I thought, “I’m just a branch,
On the true Vine I hang…
No need to feel fine with fake romance,
God’s Goodness caused me to change”!

How would be-if I got caught,
    Cheating on my Lord?
Then came to me-in my mind brought,
    A Word sharper than all 2-edged swords…

It cut my thinking away from drinking,
Saying, “Look straight with thine eyes…
For if you drank, and even gave thanks-
    Your foolishness would prove unwise”!

Then I just looked a little farther to see-
A deceiving snake staring back at me.
He said, “Just drink, I may not bite…
But I will sting and mar your life”!

So I looked again and heard with all,
My common sense telling me-not to take the fall!
    So I didn’t, I quit it-And I will drink no more…
For when I get tempted-my Overcomer is the Lord!!!

    PRAISE HIM!!!

  • School of grace...

As a child, I went so mild-to the Best School in the world
Southeast Elementry, Kindergarden was plenty-even grade 3 had a sweet girl.
Poor with nothing else, but was so happy-most everyone had such cool stuff.
Free to learn Mr. and Mrs. alphabet-and the menu at lunch was so much!
So I learned how to put those letters together, and write my heart so young
And never thought I’d see the day-I’d be writing from “The Unsealed” Love!
The kids then at School, I remember so cool-how they all truly was
Now yrs. gone by, they still are cool-though life makes me cry from above!
Was not fair for them, nor me, nor any-how things turned out as they did,
Though tradgety so far makes many alarmed-Adults reap the good sown as kids.
So all to find, all reap some good-at different levels, experiance normally would
Take the cons with the pros-could of been a prep, but had to be a hood.
Went so fast, I tried like crazy-to keep my grand childhood free…
But was taken soon, as a swift blast-so God gave Grace to me!!!
By grade 6 I was sick of the sticks, where my Dad moved us all out so-
Therefore I took and ran away-and ran so mad, everywhere I did go!
Drunk and high all the time-every reality I had to escape
My lost soul out of control-so long my madness, lived in the hate.
But this is not about, how I dropped out-of the Southeast Pirates School
It’s about how I wanted all along-again to be so happy and cool 🙂
More yrs. gone by, deeply stuck in pride-But bottomed desire comply,
To the time I wished I could be-the such happy kid I thought to hide.
Then from the Best School in the world, to the school of streets’ hard knocks-
I waited, and waited, and waited a lot…Until by God I was finally caught!
Then He took me to the place-And enrolled me in the School of Amazing Grace!
Now by the faith of my inner child-He took me off trial-For Jesus to pay my fair!
And I tell you all the while-come to find out, He really always did care!!! 🙂
October 18th, a life-changer indeed, He made this broken man complete-
And showed me the way to jump in the hole, and guide the others out of defeat!
Yes, I graduated and He gave to me-Eternal Life when I was dead…
Now everyday is made brand new-in the School of God’s Grace Again!!! 🙂

Yes, Dear world, on His time-He made my dream come true!!! 🙂

    *PRAISE HIM*

    My Chrome Book...

    My nephew messed up
    On his “Chrome Book”…
So it was given to me.
Now it is mine to look and see,
Only the things that are clean.
    A great opportunity to prove,
    That worldly lust will loose!
An opportunity to share with all
Of the One able-to stop every fall!
A possible chance to be promoted
By the One to Whom-my life is devoted!
A very great way to get in touch
Of the ones in time past-
Of whom I may not have said enough!

A great time to learn and grow
Improving more on things I ought to know.
May I even be going back to school,
With this little computer-that’s pretty cool!

Greatest of all, a way to overcome
The traps set up for me-I’ve fallen through some.
But I trust in the Great Grace of God…
That I’m an Overcomer-through His Word I trod!
    By that same sweet Grace-
    He always lets me know,
    He is my heart-monitor…
    Wherever I go!!!

    Bienvenue aux XXXIIIe Jeux Olympiques!

    Dear Unsealers,

    Bonjour from New York City!

As I type this post, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games is on my screen. After an already busy summer of sport due to UEFA’s Euro 2024 and the Copa America, the main event of the summer has finally arrived.

Seeing the athletes floating along the River Seine is making me nostalgic for the City of Lights. I can’t wait to see the competition to come and all the shots of the city in the next two weeks.

As I tend to do, I wrote a poem to welcome in this event, one that only comes once every four years. Let the games begin!

As the athletes of the world gather in Paris
To open the games of the XXXIII Olympiad

Here’s to the next sixteen days
After the cauldron is dramatically lit

All the stories that will be told
The drama the competitions will bring
With the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat coming full circle

From La Tour Eiffel, crossing the globe to the waves of Tahiti
Visions of France in all it’s splendor

Casting the cynicism of the world aside
For the ideals of sportsmanship that Mr. de Coubertin appealed

In the distance, the Olympic Fanfare is here
Pour dire bienvenue à Paris à tous!

    Silent Pleas

Behind the mask, no face to find,
A trick of mind, ‘neath sun that’s kind,
Yet rain pours down within the soul,
Where hidden truths take their toll.

“Get up, get on, you’ll be alright,”
The lies they tell ease the plight.
A crown once worn, now tipped and slanted.
    Society’s stigma, harsh and untrue.

“Go out, be free,” they say, unaware,
    That solitude’s chosen over despair.
In sorrow’s depth, alone you wallow,
While unseen, in code, for help you call.

Attention sought? Not even a hand to hold,
A listening ear, as your story’s told.
Over and over, being told “You’ll be okay,”
But will they listen, or just turn away?

Until the end, when all is read,
And in the paper, your name is led.
Will they see then, what they missed before,
Or just a picture, nothing more?

    Welcome, July!

    Dear Unsealers,

    It’s the 4th of July!
A Happy Independence Day to those who are celebrating today. I hope that all of you have a safe and enjoyable holiday.

This poem is three days late, my welcome to July.
I don’t know why I forgot to post this on Monday. But Lauren’s reminder of the latest writing contest ending reminded me to post the poem.

I just wanted to let you know that without further adieu…

    Welcome, July!
Six months have gone by, six new months are here

Amid summer’s low and slow grind
The days are ripe for possibility

    A month of celebration
From the Great White North, sea to shining sea and Allons enfant de la Patrie
Champions crowned in Berlin, Miami, London and Nice
Before the athletes of the world take center stage in Paris

Who knows where this month will go
Not even I know how the days will flow

I’m sure of one thing, though…
As sure as the summer’s changeable skies
And the flowers blooming all around

The next thirty-one days will fly by

  • My Legacy

    Plenty of days
    In plenty of ways
    I never thought
    I had to live without
    The woman who birth me
    Continuously struggling
    With her absence
Trying to put the pieces back together
    Rebuilding my life
    Without my mom
    To witness my success
    And the failures
    I had to overcome
    Without her keen talks
    To cheer me up
Makes me feel sad and blue
    I yearn for her voice
    Her smile
    Her laugh
    Her presence
That’s why I always tell people
    Cherish your mom
    ‘Cause losing her
    You can never get another
    Just memories to last forever
Besides my Bae, family and close friends
    Being a source of inspiration
My mom is honestly the driving force
    Behind my tenacity
She taught me the importance of
    Hard work and dedication
She was amazing at everything she did
She got opportunities to live her life
    As she saw fit
Much of her is in me
    I’m her twin
Many can tell by just looking at me
    In life and in death
My mom continues to show me
I can do all that I set out to do
    No matter what I’m doing
    Or what I’m going through
I take a moment or two
    To reflect:
    What will mommy do?
    What will mommy say?
    All the while reminding myself
That she is 1 of the reasons
That I am who I am
    I’m forever grateful
    For my Granny and Grandpa
    God rest their souls
    ‘Cause without them
    There will be no Margot
    So I’m forever thankful
    For her legacy
Now it’s time to create mines
Mama, I will make you proud‼️

  • Close to my heart

I pray and make my wish very clear,
Hoping that one day you will appear.
    Conjured up by pink and green fairies;
So that means we can surf through the air.
With a wave of a wand and some pixie dust,
We can go ride unicorns just like we discussed.
Of course, you said no because of your old bones.
But with closed eyes we could sail through the sky like drones.
I would take away your worries and we will have fun,
And no one can stop us because we shine like the sun.
Your presence I wish I can feel to this day,
It’s been almost three years since you’ve gone away.
I wish with everything in me I had a fairy,
I’d fly up to heaven in a magical ferry.
But I can’t be selfish and bring you back,
When you are already home and nothing you lack.
I can’t bring you back with me,
Because you are where you are meant to be.
And if you come with me,
    You will never be free.
You believed in me before I did,
Even when I was just a kid.
So, you inspire me to keep going
Even when I feel lost and unknowing.
You showed me how to believe in myself,
By putting myself doubt on the shelf.
I hold you close to my heart,
Because I know your spirit will never depart.
Thank you for being the best you can be
So I can soar and show you who you raised me to be.

  • Dear Child

Dear child, let go of your worries.
You’re here for a purpose, I’m sure you know.
Though this world is large and you may be small,
You are connected to the source and the life force of all.

    Dear child, open your eyes.
Though things seem strange, there’s room for surprise.
Each new day you wake holds potential for greatness,
A seed you can water and watch grow with awareness.

    Dear child, remember your worth.
You were created for a reason.
    The Divine orchestrated your birth.
Your soul is unique, with its own melody,
Brought here to find others and make new harmony.

Dear child, you are peace and love and grace.
It’s time for you to recall, see it shine from your face.
The purity you were born with can be returned to.
All that is meant will surely find you.

Dear child, don’t fret or fear.
Guidance and help are always near.
Follow the wisdom, the deep inner knowing.
This faith in the Divine keeps you ever flowing.

So my dearest child, breathe deeply.
    Relax your being fully.
You have many gifts, they’re yours to keep.

On The First Day Of Summer

    Dear, Unsealers:

Today is the first day of summer, the longest day of the year.

Though the summer solstice won’t be official until 4:50 PM this afternoon, the season has already made it’s presence felt in the midst of a heatwave.

Though, there’s plenty more to the season than the heat and humidity. This is a time of year to soak up everything that the late sunsets have to offer.

As is my wont to do, I wrote a welcome to the new season coming up.

    When the summer solstice dawns
    The seasons change again

With it, the longest day of the year
As the sun sets past 8pm

    Hazy days, sultry nights
A time of year where time slows down

From mid June to mid September
    The world’s come to life
From the streets, sands and seas

Soaking up the warm rays of light
    As one does
When earth is closest to the sun

Welcome summer and your mercurial ways
For a stay over the next ninety four days

  • Such a young Timothy...

    Little lad, so soon originality
Were now had of remembrance to see
    Like that dreadful hot summer-
    Drenched in sweat then thinking
Scared to death, running to Dad…
Yelling out loud, “Hey Pop’s-I’m leaking”!
    Or jumping down Superhero style-
Straight off the top of the staircase,
Knowing your cape-towel all the while-
Would land you safe on the base!
Such fun mischief you often went through,
    A wonder-dare conquering fears…
The natural boy came to you so clear!
Yes that little boy with hazel eyes and smiles too!
The lines stepped over, “one and only” say they-
At such a time past-you were always this way!
No toys to bring for elementary all for-“show and tell”…
So to school in a box-you brought snakes so well!
When came your turn-they slithered out all around the room,
And all the girls surely thought-this was final doom!
They all jumped up, they screamed and they fled…
But us young boys caught them-let them go, and caught them again!
Have I not to go on of-your happy younger self,
But you were so thankful all for everyone else!
You liked all those kids that none would play with,
You felt bad and cared-so you friended all of them!
That is only character, by God instilled for good…
And because of Him-so poor, yet rich you stood.
Yes little Timothy, original you were-
And that has carried on, in sincere imagination sure…
    Even unto this day!
Yea, still that little guy inside-
By your kids is forever embraced!
    Love ya lad!!!

Thank you for sharing I imagined it all in my head. Especially the part with you showing off the snakes in class and having to chase them all along side the boys.
      Thank you for existing ✨

    • Timothy, this is such a fun poem! I can just see you bringing snakes into the classroom for show and tell! As a teacher, I think I would have to quit after that! 🙂 I love how you embrace the quirkiness of childhood and I am sure that you still bring that excitement into the lives of those close to you. Thank you for sharing your poetry!

      • Emmy,
Thank you so much for reading my little story. And more importantly thank you so much for being a teacher. I love teachers so much and they are like angels to me. It was the teachers that took care of me in school when I never had anything ☺️ teachers are like angels to me and my cousin is a teacher and two people from my church are too.…read more

  • True...

    Theresa, may I see you
    As it is this day?
May I take one final breath,
    And with you fly away?
    Who is there,
    What do you see?
    Have I questions aware,
That you come back to me…so fair?
    Woman, I caught-another’s’ power
And so missed you on your final hour.
    Honey, woman, darlin-Dear…
I know the One who answers clear.
May I not let this tear me up-
My knowing your there is comfort enough.
May now I see you? Bet!
I’ll stay in 2nd heaven soon,
On the Moon of my regret…
You’re alive in my heart-And True.
2 lines alive-one for me, and one for you.

    Sincerely, Timothy

    • Timothy, I am sorry for your loss. Missed opportunities can keep people up at night wondering about whether they had made the right choice or not and what the outcomes would be. Just know that even though things may not have worked out in the way you wanted them to, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and you will get through these…read more
