Your feedback means soo much to me!! I have been very hesitant about sharing my poetry publicly and I’ve been attempting to open up more but knowing that someone else also can see ME through my words gives me the confidence I need to keep striving forward with my writings, as well as my journey! For a long time I allowed others perspectives and sight to keep me in the confines of my own mind, and my own home for that matter. Because I was scared to live in my own truth as if it didn’t make me who I am! So thank you!! Thank you for seeing my spirit shine through my work, and showing me that I’m not seen as my insecurity, but as a human being that goes through experiences like everyone else. It means the world to me

mackenzie woodto my insecurity
I think i need to talk to you about how you make me feel inside
You have me so afraid of the world anymore, it tends to make me run and hide-
not from my problems necessarily but from the people that i tend to know!
Its hard to build connections when you wont let me stand up and grow.
I know theres anxiety that wants to protect me from matters of my past;
But thats behind me for a reason so maybe now i can look pass-
the trauma that was caused and be able to actually give this world a chance.
Maybe their perspectives have changed or they finally dont care enough to ask.
But i know this subject is a sore spot for you.
Thats why you turned to drug, because that crowd of people accepted you as you.
They didnt need a back story or something to gossip about or doubt
they had their own problems to sit back and worry about
But you must not continue to live uncomfortably, its just not healthy
but If i wasnt you, do you think you would have met me?
Not the lost versions of yourself, but the parts that you have chosen to find.
If it wasnt for the pain you felt from others, would you still have chose to remain blind?
You know theres is so much more to this life than what meets the eye-
and youre allowing this fear to force you to sit back and watch it pass you by.
Which isnt fair, especially since you carry such a bright and powerful spirit
An energy so empowering you dont know whether embrace or fear it.
But one that needs to be shared amongst others nonetheless
So lets try not to care what other people think and cause unnecessary stress.
Because at the end of the day, its your actions that decides if you live your life at its best.
Just make sure you practice gratitude and remembering your values and self-worth.
Because every part of your life could be equally as beautiful; You just need to put in the Work.Voting starts August 5, 2026 12:00am

This is a beautifully raw and powerful piece of self-reflection. The courage it takes to confront your inner world with such honesty is immense. You’ve not only identified the source of your fear but also uncovered the path to your own liberation. That bright, powerful spirit you speak of is shining through these very words. Trust in it. You are…read more
