Good basketball players always come from Kansas. Charlotte drafted two centers. One of them got traded to Detroit. That stung lol. But the other one is said to be really good too. Hello Mehr. First off: congratulations on being engaged! That’s great ! Glad you are spending some you time. That’s awesome. And no lol. It’s not weird at all that cooking and talking can be distracting. Sometimes I will be talking to people and then lose track of what I’m doing. Not good at all. Lol. I will be doing all those things on Father’s Day for sure. My siblings live in California. So it’s it’s just me here. But I will cook a steak, and have a beer in honor of my dad. It’s just a sad day for me. But I’m happy for all that can still celebrate Father’s Day w their own fathers. I hope they know how lucky they are. Ferris bueller is a classic lol. Yes one day we can swap lasagna recipes maybe 🙂
See you on Zoom soon hopefully. Again, congrats on engagement 😊
    Take care. Happy Monday 😊

  • Hi Mehr. Just saying hi and wishing you a happy Sunday. What has your weekend been like? Let me guess: busy? Lol. I bet you are constantly on the go. That’s awesome. But I hope you also take time to relax and take some “Mehr time” 😊. Did you ever see Ferris Buellers Day Off? If you haven’t, do so. Very funny. But there’s a line where he says “life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around, you might miss it”. Or something like that lol. So I hope you have a balance of busy w some relaxing thrown in. Next weekend is Fathers Day. Not my favorite. Nor yours I would guess. But we will get through it, right? Because we have to. I’d love to chat with you one day. You seem very fascinating to me. I’d love to see how your pasta comes out 🙂
I hope you have a great Sunday Mehr 😊🌞

Hi. Yes I’m doing well. Thanks for asking 🙂
That’s great that you were close to your dad. That’s great that he pushed you to go to college. It looks pretty clear That it paid off. Yes it seems writing can be a liberating thing for many. Me? I’m not much of a writer. At least in a professional sense anyways. But since joining the Unsealed I’ve written a few things i suppose. It’s nice to contribute to this thing that Lauren has here. So I do my best to put thoughts on paper, so to speak. One essay I wrote was about my dad. He passed in march 2020. I miss him every day. And I felt good telling whoever would read my essay about how strong he was, even through Parkinson’s. So yeah. Writing helps 🙂
Nice chatting w you Telina. Hope you have a nice weekend 😊

Hi Telina. I’m Jim. How are you? I hope all is well. I read your letter. I thought it was very impressive and well written. It had to be rough losing your father at an early age- regardless how he was towards you. And to hear your mom say she didn’t love you and your siblings ? That had to be rough. I’m sorry about that. But it sounds like it toughened you up. It Sounds like you adjusted very well. I agree with you about what you said about healing yourself and forgiving yourself and taking care of yourself. I think people forget about that sometimes. The zeal to help others is admirable, but I think sometimes people lose focus of themselves in the process. And that can’t happen. We have to take care of ourselves first. Have a great weekend. I look forward to hearing from you, Telina 🙂

      Hi Jim,
I appreciate you taking the time to read my letter. I am doing great to answer your question. I hope you are also doing well. One thing I also learned is my family didn’t know how to approach emotions and expressing it was hard. My grandma also had a hard time saying I love you to my mom, so I see where the cycle was was created.…read more

  • Hi Mehr. Happy Wednesday to you 😊. Yes, missing my parents and my family has definitely toughened me up a bit, unfortunately. Tough watching two parents pass away, but at least they never had to watch me get sick or pass away. That’s good that you are always on the move. Very ambitious. You know the expression “a rolling stone gathers no moss”? That’s you lol. It’s a compliment 😊. You never need to apologize about quickly you respond Mehr. Please don’t. It’s nice that you do, whenever you do. I really enjoy talking with you. Your book and that story will definitely bring a positive change. anyone who reads it will be positivity affected by it. Hopefully people learn from it. Pasta is easily my favorite thing to cook. Meatballs, sauce, lasagna , stuffed shells. Being 100% Italian, it’s in my blood lol. But I like to cook all kinds of things. That’s great that you like to cook too. Maybe we can learn from each other? 😊
Yes. You should be very proud of that book. I was happy to read it. I look forward to the next one 😊. It’s really great talking w you. Let’s cook something on FaceTime together one day huh? Lol. That’s be fun. Hope to see you on one of the Zoom meetings one day. Have a great Wednesday Mehr 😊🌞

  • @mehraslam hi Mehr. Oh no need to apologize at all. We are all busy. All good 🙂
Thanks. The kidney stone was years ago. Hasn’t flared up since. But thanks. I loved going to see my dad. Was always the best part of my day. It’s easier now than two years ago. But I miss him every day. That’s not necessarily bad that you can multitask like that. But I suppose you need to moderate it a little bit huh? It can be too hectic maybe at times ? But that just means you are ambitious. Yes I thoroughly enjoyed reading your book. Hopefully it can be a learning tool for children that don’t appreciate their parents enough. It was very impressive and well written. You like to cook huh? That’s great. What’s your favorite thing to cook? Maybe we can share recipes someday 🙂
I’d love to chat w you someday. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday Mehr 😊

Hi Lauren. Thank you for the kind words. You are correct , everyone in those teen years has their insecurities. And even as adults. It’s weird w me. Like I wasn’t a total wallflower. If I was in a comfortable setting (doing something I felt comfortable at, talking to people I was comfortable with etc), I was quite social and outgoing. It was when I was more uncertain about things is when I would be more reclusive. Like giving speeches in class. One year at Kent, we had a group presentation on a Monday. The day before I was at the Browns game, and I was so anxious with anticipation I almost was sick. Then after we gave the presentation, immediately I felt better. It was unfortunate that I was that anxious. But I got through it. I should have done a shot of whiskey beforehand lol. When a girl liked me? Oh god. I was painfully shy in those situations. So embarassing. It’s a little different now lol 😉
You are correct. Being comfortable w who you are is a great feeling. I’m glad you did.
Have a great night Lauren 😊

  • Hi Mehr. Just saying hi and wishing you a happy Saturday. I hope you have had a good week. How are you? Not too hot I hope ? Lol. As I stated in my previous messsge, I read your book. It is quite an impressive accomplishment by you. You should be very proud. Such a poignant story. Sad that the children didn’t appreciate their mother and what she did for them. Until it was too late. She devoted her whole life to them. That’s one regret I will never have. I appreciated my parents my whole life. So I will never regret that. But you should be so proud. I bet that is the first of many for you 🙂
I hope you have a nice weekend. I’m gonna make myself a pizza tonight. I love to cook. How bout you? I hope you have a wonderful and hydrated and cool weekend Mehr 🙂

  • Hi Mehr. Wow that sounds unbearable. The heat. I can imagine. Sounds like no happy medium. Too hot or too cold. Maybe I just will visit there. I almost wanna go in summer just to see exactly how hot lol. Ok maybe not haha. Encouraging you is fun. Cuz I can see how ambitious yoga are. But because of all that ambition, no encouragement is really needed. But I will anyways 🙂 coping w my dads passing was tough. I saw him pretty much every day while he was in the nursing home the last few years. The only days j didn’t were when I had kidney stones one day, and two days that no visitors were allowed. It was right when Covid hit. He was my dad. And my buddy. My mom passed in 2004. So I had some experience w that. Unfortunately. In my opinion, there really is no timetable as far as coping. The feeling of coping never really goes away. The kiss gets more bearable I suppose. Time makes things a bit easier. Not sure if heals completely. Advice? Oh wow that’s tough. Everyone handles things in their own way. But I’d say just try to go one day at a time. Try to think of the good memories, but also let yourself be sad. I do like books. I like detective books, suspense mystery. I just read an incredible book today. Called “what went wrong”. By a great young writer. I think you know her lol. Your book was tremendous. Such a sad story. But so we’ll done. I loved it. I’d love to talk more about it. I hope we’re not done talking. Are we? I’d love to actually talk w you. You seem very nice. I’m also always here to listen for you Mehr. Have a wonderful Thursday !🌞

I’ve never been to Arkansas. Sounds like a nice place. Maybe in the fall haha. Not so hot. I will definitely check out your book. I will definitely share my thoughts. But I’m sure they will be very great thoughts. I can’t wait to read it. You will accomplish so many more things in life. You are just getting started Mehr. I know it. You have already accomplished so much. Yes Cleveland is a very nice city. Cold in winter. But many things to do, lots of different types of people. You should come visit. I’m sure you’d love it 🙂

It’s amazing how much people learn about themselves and his strong they are and what they’re capable of when facing adversity. Wow that sounds like an amazing book. Absolutely yes, please send me the link. I’d love to read it.you are right. Some people have things in life given to them. But most have to fight for everything they get. And the lessons that they learn along the way prepare them for life ahead. I’d love it if you sent me the link so I can read it you should be very proud. You have accomplished so much already. And at such an early age. I hope you like Arkansas. I’ve never been there. I bet it’s pretty. Really nice talking to you again Mehr. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday 🙂

  • Hi Richard. My name is Jim. Good story. How are you? Ex sounds like a good learning resource and a good man. People like that are invaluable aren’t they? Being a CPA? You like it I assume ? You live where now? Indianapolis? It’s nice to meet you. My fired professional job was..hmm. I guess at a car rental place in Hudson, Ohio. Not sure the many years of restaurant work before and after that really count as “professional” lol. But they sure were interesting. As was the car rental place. I have a bit more stability now. I work at Cleveland Clinic. In finance. Been there 22 years. I work from home, so sometimes I don’t feel too professional while working in my pajamas lol. But hey. The work gets done just the same huh? Again, nice to meet you Richard. Glad you’re a member if the Unsealed too. Great thing she’s doing. Take care Richard 🙂
