the divine reprimand
the clockmaker’s bride
they can’t go where i go,
they can’t see what i see,
they don’t know what i know,
that can’t be what i be//i believe i’ve been living for myself- i have been living for life.knowledge that belongs to you will find you.
what’s yours will come to you.
the focus on the future blinds you from the opportunities you are surrounded with today.
you would not be in this space if you weren’t wanted.so why do i feel like you’re trying to prove yourself? your worth?
what is there to earn//i have nothing to give
are you entitled to the approval of others//are you too ashamed of your experiences to approve of yourself?is it your experiences that make you, you?
is it your beliefs that makes you, you?
is it your actions that makes you, you?
what is there in the world that you claim as the creation of others//i claim that which i create
i don’t know.
i have no clue to be entirely honest.
consider this: am i what you decide to call me, or am i what i say i am because i’ve decided to be?in one way or another, existence supposes definition,
you are something to someone, even if that someone is the ground you walk on. the plant life you trample over with the careless entitlement to destroy.
are you going to allow yourself to be defined?frankenstein’s monster. he does not have a name because his creator never gave him one. although he could decide to name himself and shape his own identity, he could never cut the ties that bind to his father. the bond is why you seek approval. the bond is why apathy is worse than disapproval; those who are not acknowledged are the ones that destroy. you need to be responsible for everything you create, whether it be art, technology, literature, or life.
never give your creations to the world to be defined by the world,
they will never deserve what you are.
in approval or disapproval, acknowledge what you’ve done.
thank accountability for it,
take ownership of it,
the way every influence in your life have taken ownership of you,
how they’ve taken care of you,
how they’ve hurt you,
remember how you felt,
remember the feeling,
some people have nothing to feel,
i implore you to be intentional in your interactions with others//be intentional about how you make them feel,
how you make yourself feel.
you may be the reason someone in this world is lonely,
remember how you’ve felt in the deepest chasm of your limitless,
to whom/what you wanted to take ownership of it,
your friends, your parents, your lover, yourself, your gods?
now think of who you are to others, a friend known for being reliable, a child known for being grateful, a lover known for making someone feel whole, a creation grateful for who’s grateful for being created?
privileged.
who are you to abandon what you’ve created.“i know all about the pain that you go through” – Gustav Ahr

Addictive
Anxiously waiting an emotional state
Anticipating just so I can relate
You’re addictive, I’m the addict
Bad habit forming, so eager to date
Compulsive behavior that couldn’t wait
You’re addictive I’m the addict
Compelling thinking,
Let’s keep it straight
Put you on a peddle stool
I needed you, not hate
You’re addictive, I’m the addict
Everybody was doing it
Falling so deep,
In my eyes, it was great
Good feelings I couldn’t shake
You’re addictive, I’m the addict
A feeling that creates, a feeling of escape
My problems you eliminate
You’re addictive, I’m the addict
The real problem was you LOVE
I thought I found it in many versions of him but I couldn’t find it within
You became a drug,
Always needing, looking, searching
Finding that thing called love
You’re addictive, I’m the addict
Confessions of a recovered Love-aholic
Looking in the mirror,
Contemplating the reflection looking back at me
Appreciating that feeling,
The beauty that’s skin deep
The feeling of self loveSubscribe  or  log in to reply

smile
the day you begin at your lowest is the day they need you to smile,
to “look like you want to be here,” to put on the mask,
so you don’t ruin his day, so you don’t make her uneasy.
honesty is selfish, so you force the grin,
the dam holding back grief as it threatens to flood,
an apology for daring to express a neurotic emotion, intrusive thoughts rush through cracks,
the fracture in understanding reality where you don’t know how to accept what’s true,
having faith in the dark of your closed eyes that you will see light when you open them again,
these truths that shape your identity and guide your actions,
an inundation that leaves you horrified by what belongs to you,
until you fortify for mind with a pill
as i slip into comfortable delusion, breathe shallow,
my medicine tastes like lobotomy.the hollow platitudes of condolences that feel obligated to speak by the collective obligation to speak,
“hope you feel better”
“you sound crazy.”
pressing at the seams of your fragile control.
it thrives on this quiet, this forced calm,
i’m impatient.makes you wonder where the clear water went,
if it was ever there at all,
makes you feel like you had it coming during the day you’re at your lowest,
when you’re meant to lead a presentation for your boss- pace your self and inhale deep so they can’t hear tremble in your voice,
when you’re meant to join your family for dinner- running through multiple choice scenarios in an attosecond to formulate the intricate lie you’ll tell your mother in lieu of causing her worry,
when you have no thoughts to share as tour body puppeteers your actions to fulfill your daily routine,
somewhere deep within no matter how hidden,
a forcefully forgotten memory of trauma is randomly triggered and you lose control, embarrassing yourself by letting see the face behind the mask,
the pain behind the smile,
makes you feel like you deserve to hurt*** yourselfSubscribe  or  log in to reply

You deserve nothing but joy and happiness. And you never have to pretend. Always lean into spaces that make it feel safe to express your true self. You are so wonderful and you deserve nothing but joy in life. If you ever need help, 988 is a free crisis line. Sending you hugs. You are wonderful. <3 Lauren

The Crystal Ball
What is it that you seek?
What is it that you saw?
You should never listen to my wicked crystal ball.
What is it that you seek?
What is it that you saw?
You should never listen to my wicked Crystal Ball.
Have you seen the crystal ball?
Have you heard the souls scream trapped in her cloudy walls?
Everything you love gone before it even happens,
nothing left of your soul among the cold dark ashes.
They say fools wish to be free,
until they’re in a free fall…
Fools gamble time and the ball she takes it all
‘Cause the crystal is a cheat,
the crystal is a liar,
The crystal is a frozen world of ice and of fire. To live in a lie the price is the truth,
to be frozen in time the price is your youth. But you knew, it never tricked you,
You let it seduce you, left scars on your skin-as if it ever needed you.
Some always come crawling,
some may escape her call.
But you should never listen to my wicked Crystal Ball…
What is it that you seek?
What is it that you saw?
You should never listen to my wicked crystal ball…
You should never listen to my wicked crystal ball.A young boy sits in a wooden chair
Gazing forward
A ball of crystal perched before him
Almost invisible
It warps and clouds what lay behind it
He knows there will be a price
But he must try
He wants to know,
He has to know.
He gazes into its prism chamber
And it tells.
When he lifts his head, his breath taken away
The awe of the secrets told to him
Fade
When he sees his reflection
He sees that he is no longer the same man
But old, so old.
The ball has told him what he wished to know
But he had to pay the price of time
He walks away, as many have before,
Feeling cheated
Feeling like it all went by so fast
If he could only have another chance
If he could only get that time back
But he can’t
Time is the only thing you have
And the only thing you can never have
It is yours, spent
And the crystal ball will steal your time
The crystal will steal your life.Subscribe  or  log in to reply

This is really powerful and well-written. I feel like it’s a story that people could read and apply to their own lives in myriad ways as the crystal ball can represent so many different things – depending on the person and their story. Thank you for sharing! <3 Lauren

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
get out of my head
By: Jim Kellogg
(The Queer Poet)
10-19-24tears…
raindrops of my soul
offer silent words
words of…
pain
misery
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!thoughts…
turning gears
of you
a weight on my shoulders
of me
trapped in the shark cage
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!why can’t i be alone in my thoughts
why do you always have to invade them
i’ve peeled back the layers
the stench of you
left behind
makes me shed tears
an endless springi no longer wish
to be a kettle boiling over
i wish
for comfort and peace
to allow little boy blue
to rest
at ease with his… my… thoughtsin your countless acts of rape
you tried to take away my identity
you created an imbalance of power
you bound up my dreams
you held a gun to my head
who would have believed me
who will believe methey said they were sorry
sorry for what happened
they don’t need to be sorry
you need to wipe-away
the cloudy skies
bring my darkness
into the lightbut…
you don’t have the guts
you don’t have the capacity
you wallow in your own confusion
…your own sense of misguided despair
be a man (whatever that means)
stand-up for what you have doneGET OUT OF MY HEAD!

Infinite Meanings
Every day the search is so real
In obvious, yet often vague fashion
The path is forever passing through
Mirage and tangible peaks and valleysWhen molehills turn to mountains
When that oasis ahead offers nothing
Only barren and deserted ground
The insurmountable desire to fade becomes
An obstacle we struggle to overcomeEvery day the struggle is sincere
How to permeate and see beyond
Our perceived vision of that molehill
The lying mirage we cling to in hope
Of quenching that continuous thirst on the journeyStrive to find the meanings lying in wait
Infinite is their patience the meanings exists
While often not simple the reward is priceless
Knowledge is power and awareness the weaponSearch and struggle brings truth
Even if only your own to hold
Because at the end of every path we choose
Is a new one only you can walkKosmic_Kachina2469

Tracy, I love this! How unique. Everyone makes their own choices in life and takes paths they choose from. Even through struggle and hardship, we find a way to make it and continue to better ourselves for the future. Beautiful poem!

Thanks for your thoughts. It makes me happy if what I write touches even just one person. I do believe every moment we experience begins with a choice. And in every choice there is a meaning…a lesson. Those are what I seek. I often try in my writings to enlighten people to things of this nature. I believe everything happens for a reason.

Your nothing, my everything
I felt like my death is long overdue
I use to enjoy life when I was with you
Look into my eyes and what do you see
Just the leftover mess of what you made of meAs memories turn to lessons i look to see life in a new light
Fighting back my nature to not let my love turn to spite
Despite my best efforts i still was not enough
Tell me was what we had ever real or all just a bluffI gave you all i had in spite of my status
But despite all that you painted me red black and blue like i was your personal canvas
As i pick up the pieces of whats left of me
Will i finally find myself and be set free?Subscribe  or  log in to reply

Rowan, you are enough! You are perfect just the way you are and I hope you are starting to realize that. I am glad that you can find a little bit of peace in relaying your emotions through poetry. It can be very helpful to share through this instead of in an in-person conversation. We are all here for you if you need to talk ♥♥

Wow this letter is very powerful. I gained so much insight and inspiration reading this piece. At the beginning when you were asking about what are the things that make you, you. I read that over twice making me think deeply into those questions. You really challenge the reader to dive deeper into themselves to find the spark of inspiration of…read more
