Hey Girl
Hey Girl
What’s Your Name
I See You Looking
What’s On Your Mind
I Like The Way You Think
Show Me More About You
Paint Me A Picture
I’m Here
Wondering
Waiting
ListeningSeemingly Beautiful
But I Don’t Know
Tell Me Your Favorite Song
Do You Go Out
Or Stay In And Read
I’m A Writer
In Need Of A Friend
You’re Patient
And I am
You’ve Noticed Me For Days
I’ve Noticed Too
I Wanna Shake Your Hand
It Looks Soft
How Do I Say
We Could Get Lifted
No Intentions
Just What’s MissingWhat Do You Say

Tomorrow
I wish I had vision so I could watch you
I wish I had candy so I could give to you
I wish I had hands so I could touch yours
I wish I had a voice so I could inspire you
I wish I had courage so I could court you
I wish I had the time so I could tell you
I wish I had a store so I could sell to you
I wish I had a pet so you could too
I wish I had a bruise so I could show you
I wish I had water so I could offer you
I wish I had directions so I could guide you
I wish I had style so I could compliment you
I wish I had grace so I could remind you
I wish I had a poem so I could share with you
If not today then maybe tomorrow
I can’t promise today
But I promise I’ll think of this tomorrowSubscribe  or  log in to reply

Titus, I love the repetition in this poem. It really drives home the fact that if you could, you would. I think it’s beautiful that you wish you had all the things you listed just so that you could make another person happy. That kind of selflessness shows true devotion and love. Thank you for sharing your work!

You Were My Everything
It was a beautiful day when I talked to you
That was a great feeling of something new
It was a beautiful day when I heard your voice
One that I wonder if I had a choice
It was a beautiful day when we met
A beautiful day that took away my breathe
Those were beautiful days I visited
I reminisce and sometimes I miss it
Those were beautiful times I looked into your eyes
What pretty pictures imprinted in my mind
Those were beautiful things we shared
I just wanted to tell you here
You were my everythingSubscribe  or  log in to reply

Titus, this poem is bittersweet and moving. It seems like the relationship you described brought you a lot of happiness, but it also seems like the relationship is now over. It is so hard to lose someone you care about, especially when you weren’t ready. I hope that you are able to remember the person fondly even though they are no longer in your…read more

Untitled
You show up without warning
Sparking my interest
I wouldn’t do this normally
But I choose to accept
I follow the narrow
Reluctantly I’m dressed
Checking over your shoulder
Stepping in walls of Magnolia
I proceed to regress
Caught speechless
Long by deviant
Leading me out further
Moments I feel descent
Going without reason
I sense meaning
Yielding for composure
I watch myself be
For seconds I am
Unto never againSubscribe  or  log in to reply

Family Vacation
I don’t have an extraordinary event to tell you about…not this time. I’d like to get there one of these days. Tell a good tell of some glory days I may have left, but today I have my niece to talk about.
Not long ago, I saw family that I hadn’t seen in a while. It took me long enough to go see them, but I figured it had been too long. Figured I shouldn’t waste so much time on things like this, because you never know when you’re going to get that time again.
It was good to see my family and show my face. That stuff still counts for something. Well, showing up was appropriate it, nonetheless, but it was emotional for me as I thought about the hiatus of being around them and all that I had missed.
My niece was one of those things that I have missed. I didn’t know she’d be so adorable when I meet her. I had heard about her and didn’t know what to expect from her. She turned my trip into a well worth it journey. She was full of life with her giggles and smiles. Had me thinking of kids of my own for a moment. Other moments…I thought about the world we live in and what it has come to and how she’s going to have to grow up in it and navigate through it the best way she can. But I suppose that’s what we do when it comes to our younger ones…I suppose that’s what we do.

Hi! I think that you captured the beauty of connection and family quite well and told a wonderful story. Seeing the beauty in children while also seeing the ugliness of the world around us is a feeling I can relate quite well to. The juxtaposition of these two feelings give your piece depth and make it easy to understand. Thank you for sharing!

Friend/Friendships
Establishing good friendships will take you far in life. Maybe places you haven’t thought of. More times than not, they’re good to have, which starts with you.
Having good people in your life requires you to be the same kind of person. A person that cares, a person that’s genuine, that person that’s supportive, and also a good friend requires honesty(just to name a few).
Just being there for someone is a great way to help build a friendship. And being good to them while you’re there is even better. Listening, hearing them out and allowing them to vent to you. Not being so critical of judgmental, but open and honest with them about the things that may come. Everyone needs love and support in life and friends are good to have for such things.
Big things doesn’t always have to be done in life and especially friendships, but the little things are a lot of times all we need. The little things say so much in a friendship. They can show support, love, and even acceptance. Whether it’s giving that person advice, inviting that person to an event, or just checking on them and seeing how they’re doing. Reminding them that they’re valuable. That can go a long way for a friendship.
So remember what it takes to be a good person and to be a good friend. Remember that others have feelings and lives as well, not just you. And remember the value of a good friend, so that you can be of good value yourself.

Titus, you are so right that in order to be surrounded by good friends, you have to be a good person yourself. You won’t see many selfish or condescending people surrounded by friends that love them. Instead, those people are often alone with only superficial relationships to sustain them. Being a good person makes people want to be around you, e…read more

Hurricane
Broke my limbs and tore my spirit
As I walked and smelled debris
I could barely talk
Was hard of hearing
Even lost feeling in some places
Some places still looked nice
But they were broken
Why am I the chosen
To see these things
To be unfazed after the truth
After the storm and troops
Everyone is gone
No sound but mine
Where do I go and be fine
Limping on distraught knees
Existing with little breathing
I continue…
Down the wary roads
As I see the smoke
As the rain provokes
My will elopes
And I continue…

Titus, this captures your emotion so well and in such a visual way. I am sorry you are going through a hard time. This piece reminded me of a quote: “When you are going through hell, keep going. ”
Sending hugs. <3 Lauren

Necia….I used to do some exercises like that. Maybe I’ll try some to help. I did complete something yesterday…and now I’m getting the urge to do something now. I usually only write when I’m feeling it or getting the urge…to be into it. I’m like that through and through. I can’t do much if I’m not into it. But now that I think about it…perhaps that perspective could change and I could have more of an outcome…pushing to do so. Interesting.

New Here
Hello everyone…I’m new here, but not new to writing. I’ve been having a hard time getting back into writing and being inspired to write or even get the urge. I’ve had small surges here and there lately…but maybe this site can help change that.

I think we’ve all had this issue at one point or another. This year I signed up for a writing challenge (write one poem a day for a year). While most of what I write either needs heavy editing or has no hope unless I completely re-write it, at least I have pieces to work from. One of my favorite sayings is that you can’t edit what isn’t written.…read more

Titus, Try taking all your most hateful angery thoughts and emotions and write them all on one side of a piece of paper. Then take all your best positive and good thoughts on the other side of the paper. Find the ones from both sides of the paper that you’re dealing with and going through in your present circumstances, and drawl lines connecting…read more

Titus,
I used to write all the time. Then I didn’t. Now I write for work, and my desire to write my own ideas is waking up. The struggle is in the doing for me. My best ideas come when I’m working out. I started writing down the ideas, they wait for me to flesh them out. I do and I will do more.
I hope you find inspiration from the prompts in…read moreWrite me back Subscribe  or  log in to reply
