What do I love about this chapter of my life?
I love seeing my mom so happy,
I love my step-dad,
My step-siblings,
My stepdad’s puppy,
Whom I get to call mine, now

Chats with my new siblings,
Telling my stepbrother he’s really like a big brother to me,
Hearing him say “I love you too”,

I love our new house,
So big,
So wide,
So open,

It feels so safe,
I feel safe,

Last year’s Christmas,
We all spent together,
Happy,

Giving you a tie,
A “wild” tie,
As a gift.
Happy.

Family board games with you

Watching “This Is Us” together, as a family with you.
Do you know how much I love you?
I love having a dad who really cares about me, now.

Can I please hold on to these happy moments with you?

This chapter in my story,
It’s an amazing new story.

A story that I hope doesn’t have a dark ending,

We’re all happy now,
I’m happy now.

My mom’s remarriage,
That brought light and happiness,
And joy,
New siblings,
Good change,
A stepdad who’s a better father,
Than my biological one,
No more darkness,
I can be happy now,
Could it be that I can be happy now?,
Holding on to the good,
The darkness won’t win,
With you I see light,
With you i can breathe,
How did the dark,
Lead up to the light with you,
My new family,
My new home,
Why did i have to go through a dark path,
To get to you,
Feeling happy,
Feeling safe,
Can I hold on to that?,
Knowing this forever now,
This moment,
It’s us,
A happy forever now
