It took me a really long time to be content with my decision to give up residential custody of my daughter. The decision was really painful but now that we have been living a part for 3 years now, I feel like her and I are closer than ever. We talk everyday! Both of us are really glad that I gave up fighting with her dad all the time. It really took so much out of us and our relationship was really suffering because of it. Now, I am content with my decision and I’m still really happily married to a wonderful strong opinionated man. Lol.

I have been through so many really hard things in my life that I had absolutely no control over. I just remember writing this letter and crying so hard, telling God that I just couldn’t forgive my mother. It was just to hard. All of a sudden memories of being sexually abused as a child, having to testify in court against the man who hurt me, being so messed up that I made a decision to have a baby at 14 years old. Raising this baby! I heard a voice inside my head while I was completely broken to pieces saying, “Look at all the hard things you have already done!” You can forgive her.
