    My Black heart bleeds for Palestine
    From an ancestral wound
    Opened by a new whip
    Lined with explosive erasure.

    My Black heart bleeds for Palestine
    White blood cells imprisoned
    Like the babies of the Gaza strip
    Unable to heal my wound
    Unable to escape.

    My Black heart bleeds for Palestine
    Fresh blood atop the scars
    Left by the ‘67 riots,
    Seneca Village,
    Lake Lanier,
    Tulsa. . .

    My Black heart bleeds for Palestine.
    I see my history in their struggle.
    For them I hope a radical change.
    And I pray not a present like mine.

    My Black heart prays to free Palestine.
