Write a poem a letter about quote or motto that inspires you 8 months, 2 weeks ago
If you love something
The quote goes “If you love something, let it go. If it comes back to you it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t it never was.” I use this quote in everything I do. Here’s a poem of how I use this quote in my life.
In the quiet hours of dawn’s first light,
I held my dreams close, fierce and tight.
But whispers of the world, soft and clear,
Taught me to release, to let go of fear. With open hands, I cast them wide,
Knowing some would drift, some would bide.
For love, true love, finds its way home,
In the spaces between, in the skies we roam.I watched as hopes flew on the breeze,
Some returning, wrapped in ease.
Others fading like mist in the sun,
Reminding me not all journeys are one. Each lesson learned in the dance of fate,
Embracing the fleeting, I learned to wait.
For what is meant, will always remain,
And what was never mine, shall cause no pain.So I cherish the moments, both lost and gained,
In the tapestry of life, both joy and strain.
With every letting go, I find my way,
Embracing tomorrow, come what may.Voting is closed

Jenn, your poem gives deeper meaning to the quote you shared. I’ve heard the quote many times, but always considered it a way to help people let go of relationships that are untrue. I love how you apply it to other aspects of your life. Some dreams we have are not meant to be, and though this is a difficult pill to swallow, understanding it can…read more

Write a letter or poem to your younger self about why he or she shouldn’t worry about the future 1 years, 1 months ago
Dear younger me
Dear younger me
Put those pills down you don’t want to die
Everything you believe now is a lie
Those days of crying in the bathroom because you had to eat alone
Or sadness because he didn’t call your phone
Won’t matter 15 years from now I promiseThere will be a lot of pain you will go through
Your heart will hurt so bad you won’t now what to do
You’ll drink your sorrows away
Waiting just waiting for the day
That everything will changeAll the pain you have endured over the years will make you stronger and make you the best mom you can be
And finally you’ll feel completeSo put the razor away
You’ll have enough scars that won’t fade
But you will be grateful for the scars on your heart
Because in the end it’ll make you strong enough to give you and your daughter a fresh start
To give her a life that you never had
So trust me everything your feeling now won’t feel so bad
Because you’ll give life to the light you always neededVoting is closed

Aw, the ending is so cute! Finding gratitude for the scars on your heart is a beautiful thing. I think it’s wonderful that we have the privilege to love so deeply, and I’m glad you see the joy in that, too 🙂 Thank you for sharing
