Peace Line
Under a gossamer swan sky
Our present meets the past
Mother and daughter travel the streets
Of E’ire in old BelfastThe bright and brilliant azure sky
Crisp and clear and clean
Dips down to gently touch varied greens
The like we’ve never seenMurals depict the troubles
Of Northern Ireland life
Rebellion hangs heavy in the air
Reminding of the strifeThe Peace Line had been drawn
The wall still standing there
Brother still fights brother
From dusk until the dawnA country ever fractured
By a god that can’t be seen
The rebels travel south
Refusing reign of England’s queenPavement turns to cobbles
On the Dublin streets we roam
From the North the Halligan’s came
We have finally found our homeVoting starts June 17, 2024 12:00am
