  1. Be direct and concise. Don’t write more words than necessary. The simpler the writing is the easier it is for people to understand and digest.

2. Think about the message you want to get across in your letter/story and make sure you stick to that message throughout the piece.

3. Use Grammerly to check for writing errors. They have a paid version and a free version. It’s like car wash for writing. They help clean up your grammar.

4. Read your work out loud before you submit it. It helps you find mistakes.

5. Write like you talk.

6. Don’t use cliches
