    Rose, rose

    Petals wilted
    Colors faded
    Stem flaccid
    Retrograded
    Burnt edges
    Roots grounded
    To the Waters
    To the Mountains
    Growing alone
    Never seen
    Time slows
    In between
    Two worlds
    On my own
    In the Earth
    Beneath the stone

    A rose as sweet as it smells, soft as it feels has thorns like every other rose
    With every day the petals fade, to remind us of how life grows

    Rose, rose is about overcoming the obstacles & tribulations life bestows upon us
    Indigenous women must adapt to our environments
    By remaining connected to who we are & where we come from
    To stay strong & to hold on
    To keep going & to keep growing
    To succeed in the worlds, we live in
