It’s like the magic & the music all stopped throughout my soul. Then a silence, a void, a certain ache wrenching at my every emotion, abruptly disturbing my happy place. My smile stolen by painful never ending tears these last few days… My mind, my thoughts & my core soul scattered while running aimlessly these last few days. So, I find myself in that moment as that rose. Slightly withered at the stem in a slump, & beaten by the treacherous storms in which she had endured within this circle of life.
So, here I am as that once beautiful rose, withered by life’s harshest storms…slouching within that crack upon that concrete. The sky is cloudy & I have no feet. My thorns are torn, my beauty is damaged & my petals are beat…I am that rose that grew from the world’s shattered concrete. I reach for the sunlight & I pray for a butterfly. Yet I’m that rose that got passed on by…oh why…My petals whisper a sigh… will I just wither & die, no not I. I must grow, I must try, I’m the rose known to survive, so I fight. I arch my stem, I stretch my feet, I am learning to walk without having any feet. Suddenly I leaped… To the sky… for that nurturing loving sunlight. The healing & the growth that’s been designed… By your true love of the universe divine. The rain water will taste to my roots like fine wine…ohhh my…these are life’s trying times. Yet, I am the rose that grew from the world’s shattered concrete & I’ve learned to walk without having any feet. My petals had been damaged…& my thorns had grown weak. Nonetheless, I reach for that sun peak… when nobody cared… It was just me… the rose & God together standing there.
