    Wrong Side of The Bed

    This morning I woke up,
on the wrong side of the bed.
    I found myself where
    my wife lays here head.

    The pillow smelled like her,
    and her shampoo.
    The blankets were still warm,
    so what did I do?

    I cuddled in,
    as tight as I could.
    I thought about her,
    and it felt so good.

    This is the place,
    where she finds her rest.
    Right beside me,
with her head on my chest.

At the end of her day,
    when her worries are done.
    She lays right here,
like the setting of the sun.

    This pillow is guilty,
    of messing up her hair.
    It’s her place to hide,
when I come to “wake the bear”.

    These blankets keep her warm,
    through the winters bite.
They shelter her from bad dreams,
that haunt her in the night.

    I dont know it was,
but I don’t feel the same,
    Someone somewhere,
Gave waking up on the wrong side of the bed a bad name.
