Why do we charge a fee?
- We want to maintain a safe space. If anyone could sign up, we would have trolls and nasty comments from people who just want to cause trouble.
- For our contests, requiring a membership deters people who would just submit an AI-written piece in an attempt to win a prize.
- We read every single piece submitted. It would not be possible to do so if we made it free.
- The site/community costs thousands of dollars a month to manage. Your contribution goes toward maintaining, improving, and growing the community.
- Requiring a membership encourages a more genuine and engaged community.
