my love
As I gather my thoughts my mind begins to spark up in flames
Opening my brain to the wonderful possibilities of Ifs, and’s, and buts, of what certain things can be
Think.. think.. myself says to me but my arms and fingers start to move on their own without even saying a word to me
Blink my eyes open widely!
As I begin to write down my first line I know It has to start with a fierce beginning that would grab my reader’s attentionbut must I mention her thumbs are like a well-trained dog leading to other dog packs that are ready to bark together once and for all
But for once she, who is me that is I is ready for many and all she’s willing to share words with the world even if that means getting out of her shell
See if you’re listening and paying attention it all started when Tionna was 12 creating raps pairing words together making them have a sort of sense
Did I mention these words were in many different alphabetical ways see pay attention “I step up in the booth I go ham on the desk they looking for Tionna there she go where she at. 12 years old got her condos on stack talking about me man y’all just just whack!!”
These words were more than just rhymes it was like a melody that played a certain tone on the radio all night long
Until I she who is me created a song at 17 I finally felt belonged “Personal love” is all I ever needed and wanted but what can a teenager preach or even say huh
Love wow that devotion of picking up that pen and writing words that closely and slowly floated like the ocean I mean no one, no one like Alicia Keys would say could stop me from writing because I’m that person
that fell in love with poetry at the age of…. I mean I told you I’ve been writing since I was 12
Are you guys even listening?
She who is me.. that is her within me is proud of how far she would even come to think that words became a melody and not just some type of beatBut one can recite and speak upon many things just from her thoughts alone or just everything meanings
You see once you find something you love, you can’t let go of that passion because if you do it may crumble you like cookies in an empty box take my advice if you’re asking
I can’t let go of this writing passion see I
finally, found something I love, love, love it’s that something I can’t get enough of writing holds my heart clinger than any sticky gloveBut if you all have something you love please don’t ever give up!

Tionna, I love the way you ended this piece with the line: “But if you all have something you love please don’t ever give up!” Too often, people let go of hobbies and passions they love because they simply don’t have time or don’t think they are good enough. It is wonderful that you feel strongly enough about your passion to know that others n…read more

See, sea
as if she actually trembles before the glance of the beautiful but so frightened sea
I stare with revelation as I look upon the waves and sounds before it can even look back at me
see sea, maybe the ocean isn’t what it’s watered up and down to actually be
blue, beautiful water and boats with many more things filled with so many animals that we can even hardly name see sea, what I mean?
trusting that one could float above what’s attainable to feel without the fear
that follows me
which shadows us
they eventually think
can grip you tightly?but one tends to fight one punch up in the atmosphere gasping for some type of fulfillment that this individual could eventually catch a break
stopping for a second to breathe, breathe, take deep breaths for a moment, and allow whatever tension to ease like the breeze sea, now you see what I mean?
Lifeguard, please help quickly! Someone is drowning!!!!

Tionna, you are right that the sea is a beautiful and frightening thing. Watching the waves come and go soothes the soul, but thinking about what lies beneath the surface is a different matter. The deep sea is unknown, and humans are trained to fear what they don’t know about. If we aren’t careful, it’s easy to drown. Thank you for sharing this…read more

best friend
memories are filled with joy and with laughter even fun but the best memories are you and me
being my own very best friendI’m so proud of you and how far you came
this rode wasn’t easy but it was worth the drive you strived so far and beyond your limits untilyou became unlimited by putting your mind to do anything and everything you could possibly do and what did you do
I made sure to overcome struggles that I dealt with even if it came with a little thunder and rain but besides that the sun has to come back up and rise again
being able to get my mind together was the best thing that ever happened to me because people can’t see what you can see and be you because there’s only one me
I’m happy to have shed tears and a little bit of sadness or pain because that’s what make these memories worthy all over again
being able to be the best version of myself compares to nothing else there’s nothing like self love, confidence, happiness, and peace amongst yourself
because when you’re alone there’s no one else but your thoughts and your thinking which could be overwhelming
but when you have a best-friend in you, within yourself there’s nothing else you would need I’m so thankful self for the memories that was made between
you in meVoting is closed

Tionna, being your own best friend is one of the best ways to show yourself love! Being alone with your thoughts should cause joy instead of dread. You are right that the sadness and pain we experience in life just make the joyful memories even better. Thank you for sharing your experience!

This was a real well thought out poem, authentic emotions and true to the core. We never know what people are dealing with and it’s not our place to try to figure out why. Thank you for this.

sane or insane
life how quickly and swiftly things can change within a snap of a finger your life can never, may ever not be the same that day getting questioned into thinking their personal thinking wasn’t even their thinking into thinking what was ever a thought
of being on earth but listen there’s two things in this world being sane or insane but crazy is what most people would say or label you just because of one bad episode you had within your own television show
you watched that personal daythe show wasn’t really that good but in the ending why did it have to end badly?
Like some people would question and say but that’s just like people who can’t help but control majority of their emotions and feelings when they don’t know what’s GOING ON , ON, TURN ON!!!!
that television for what’s about to happen that day but then comes drama in every show
now all of a sudden all things changethe character, the time, the places, the plot even the EPISODE NAME but CRAZY is what you, you, him, her, she, them, they, whatever what people like you would even say because you don’t recognize change
you don’t know how it feels to be sane then insane then crazy for that specific day but SPECIAL BEING, Great individual, Intelligent person, caring, motivational, humanitarian, but you just call them everything else but their name
when you don’t recognize or could even acknowledge mental health as being crazy or insane like almost every ignorant person would think to say or rub off on special being in every single way
but the episode ended before you could even watch something else again but you didn’t see or acknowledge it before the transform of change
now you realize things weren’t ever really the same or there’s time for a greater change especially starting with the title of the episode name

Tionna, you are so right that life can change so quickly we don’t even realize it and that people will make judgments based on moments in time. Being “sane” or “insane” is not something that others have the right to determine, but people judge every day. We are in charge of writing our own episodes, and it sure is nice to be able to write som…read more

If you could send one message you learned about life to every person in the world, what would it be? 8 months, 2 weeks ago
what is life
what is life? life that’s heavily filled with mistakes and blessings but most of all intelligible lessons
you choose a certain route that you believe is the right way to go but deep, intensely down inside you know there’s a dead zone
approaching really and mighty slow you still take your time to believe to do what’s right but what’s right when two wrongs can’t make a right, up there look! at the left light you finally realized there was a yellow light all of this time but you still decided to speed on up right?
through and bright like the red light see this is why we have to accept things we cannot change the stop sign is only there for it’s own specific gain
which is for you to abide by and not potentially meant to be changed but change we expect to always fluctuate but are you ready?
to build up and mouton because you expect for things to always go your way but when human beings aren’t meant for you trust me you won’t have to over think double checking if you’re actually coherent in your own brain
the brain that allows for you to grow and change within all the impossible says and impossible many ways
another thing this isn’t a Marco Polo game stop choosing what chooses you listen don’t get offended
I’m talking about the venomous snake that’s in the grass that you live in, that you walked in with your own two feet without looking down to find yourself nothing to see
see the tricks that many sour candies can cause that you eat which is always sour than sweet but this life is created for everyone including you and me
but i can only talk not preach
this is your lesson, your mistakes, your testimony, your personal journey made just for you to experience and even seeVoting is closed

Tionna, the question you ask is one that many of us ask daily. What is life? I love how you explain that each and every person has a different answer to that question. Our experiences create and shape the life we live. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

my definition of peace
peace, the peace that’s so so very sweet
and lovely filled with incredible
nature beings such as the birds
the bumbles bees lady bugs, caterpillars,
and even things we could hardly
ever seepeace, the peace that you’re
mind is so free and at ease the
freedom you have without
over thinking, under thinking
with such anxiety till
the point where you could
hardly take a moment and even breathepeace, I want the peace that comes
with happiness, excitement, joy,
and laughter filled
with friends and family
till the point where sadness or
drama isn’t included or even such a thingpeace, the peace
from the moment that
i wake up or even go to sleep
negativity isn’t even a
thought or thing keeping me
from my everyday things
that would escape me
from my positive realitypeace, the peace
where privacy, calmness
quietness, isolation isn’t a
bad thing just being able
to enjoy life without all
the unnecessary noise
and irritation that will
disturb mepeace, the peace
that’s so light and pretty
like the sky filled with
many clouds on a hot
sunny warm day when
taking a swim is almost
perfect
for that specific daypeace, the peace
where life is like
the ocean floating
and the waves
maneuvering so
smoothly and perfectly
sounding where that’s
all I want to hear and
just seepeace
peace
is all I want in life
and may ever needVoting is closed

I love the structure and format of your poem! You really emphasized that this is a poem about peace, and your words are laced with beauty. I loved when you said, “Where privacy, calmness, quietness, isolation isn’t a bad thing.” Too often, we place negativity on the slow components of life when really these are opportunities for great peace 🙂 T…read more
