Hey Harper!
Thank you so much! Too much hatred from both sides and it’s just sad. Praying for our nation is our best bet.
Blessings!

Faith Amidst the Fray
Or:
In this election season filled with strife,
Don’t let your Christian testimony wane in life.
Amidst the chaos and political game,
Let your faith and kindness remain the same. For belief without action is empty and vain,
A hollow shell, with nothing to gain.
So let us not be swayed by those who deceive,
But follow the Word, in Him, always believe. Two candidates may stir the nation’s flame,
But don’t let your actions tarnish your Christian name.
Ask yourself, would Jesus act in this way?
He died for us all, let that guide what you say.For most, Those candidates don’t even know your name
So why lose friends and family, what’s there to gain?
Jesus turned the tables in the temple, not outside.
So why be so quick to judge when in him you abide. No matter the outcome, no matter the claim,
Let your light shine bright, let love be your aim.
In this election season’s wild acclaim,
Keep your Christian testimony, don’t let it be tamed.Voting starts November 5, 2024 12:00am

Rebekah, great work!! I completely agree. Letting silly things like this divide us is not what Jesus would want. He would want us to unite and become stronger together. I love the line “Let love be your aim” because I think that a lot of people forget this and it shows in how they act. Good job!! ♥

Emmy,
Thank you so much. Since the passing of my brother who was also my best friend, I have found the need to be in this very place even more now. 🙂Subscribe  or  log in to reply

In His Presence
Upon the shore, where waves gently kiss,
I find my soul in peaceful bliss,
Beneath the sky’s vast, azure expanse,
I feel the touch of divine romance. In quiet reverence, at Jesus’ feet,
My heart and mind find a peace so sweet,
His presence, like the ocean’s embrace,
Fills me with a profound grace. The rhythm of the tides, a soothing song,
Guiding my spirit where I belong,
In the stillness, His voice I hear,
Whispering words that calm all fear. The salty air, a healing balm,
Restoring my weary soul’s calm,
The seagulls’ cry, a chorus divine,
Echoing praise in perfect rhyme. As the sun dips low, painting the sky,
I lift my gaze, feeling so high,
Connected to the Creator’s hand,
In this sacred moment, I firmly stand.Oh, how my heart sings in this place,
Wrapped in His love, clothed in His grace,
At the ocean’s edge, at Jesus’ side,
I find my peace, in Him I abide.Voting is closed

Rebekah, your poem truly captures the peace that God’s love provides us. The ocean is one of the most spiritually calming places in the world, and I also find peace there. It feels as if it is closer to God. The “salty air” really is a “healing balm” that has the power to erase the problems we face. Thank you for sharing this lovely poem!
