About me

Husband, Father, Air Force Officer, Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) Aviator. But I did not get there overnight. My life has been full of blessings and challenges, triumph and failure, trauma and healing. I have my struggles and strengths. above all I am human like everyone else.

My childhood started out fortunate and normal, but my parents divorced, mom remarried, my stepfather assaulted one of my siblings, and we found ourselves moving in with my grandparents out of state. I found strength and cameraderie in volunteer firefighting and EMS. Went on to college where I met the woman who would become my wife, joined Air Force ROTC and commissioned into the Air Force upon graduation. Off to Combat Systems Officer (aircrew, non-pilot) training where I had struggle and success. On to training in the HC-130 Combat King CSAR aircraft. Many moves, the birth of my amazing daughter, multiple deployments, and mental health struggles later, here I am. Still standing, still thriving. I hope I can be as much of a help as the stories I read here are for me.

My favorite quote

“The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.” -G.K. Chesterton”
