    Hannah, Please Forgive Me...

    Dear Hannah….

Nothing can justify my actions…I don’t know where I started becoming cynical about you again…to not speak to you for 4+ months is absolutely unforgivable…

I’ve been practicing self-discipline and being alone for so long that somewhere within this year…my healing turned into erasing….and I admit it.

    I admit that…read more

“Made to Endure what Life throws at You”

    Dear Bianquita,

8 days before your 8th birthday, you will become a big sister to your future best friend. In the meantime, he is more like your real live baby doll and little brother. I must be honest with you; this joy will soon disappear, and you will go through many trials and tribulations. I promise, that life gets better, and your…read more

      • Great letter. How are you doing these days? I hope you have someone peace and can live joyfully.

I relate some to your story as I have MS and my son of 32 is my 2/7 caretaker, head cook and bottlewasher. He rises above anyone’s expectations every day and helps me though he suffers from migraines and depression himself.

    To my younger self

To my younger, I wish I could go back in time and live those childhood moments again. As I got older I realized that those moments cannot be done again, but at the end of the day I lived those moments and had a lot of fun and experienced a lot of things. If I could go back and name a time that I really enjoyed it would be going to the Browns…read more

    • Sounds as if you have had a very good life. What do you do to help ensure your son will also have one? Have you thought about lengthening this and telling more specifics about those visits to the Browns? Do you make similar experiences happen for your son? What is your one regret in life and how are you moving forward to accept or change it?

    Advice to my younger self

    Dear Little Telina,

Don’t be so hard on yourself or push people away because of fear of getting hurt. Don’t allow others to make you doubt how beautiful and strong you are. I know at such a young age you had to be strong on your own, but just know there are so many people who love you as you are, without the masks or people pleasing. I know…read more

    • This is such an amazing story Telina! I relate so much to this because I’ve been through a rough patch in life where I was hard on myself; and not only that I was also hard on the people I surrounded myself around. It’s a great deal in life when sometimes putting to much pressure on yourself can affect others around you as well. Especially whe…read more

      • Thank you for saying that. I honestly have always loved to help and inspire people just because of my upbringing. I didn’t have a bad childhood, in fact it was a great one. I couldn’t help but feel invisible as a child just because I was the middle child. I think we tend to retreat when we feel invisible, and that is something that takes a long…read more

  • To my younger self

    To your younger self,

I know you because I was once you. You were always angry, so angry to the point where your dad took you to anger management classes. You would get into fights without any real cause behind it. Then, the school would suspend you because of it. I am really proud of you by the way because now we were able to cool our anger down…read more

    • Kayjah,

You are an incredible person and have so much to be proud of. You are so brave and strong, as you have shown courage by facing the things that hurt and finding healthy ways to heal. I think each one of us struggles as young people to cope with whatever hurt we face. And the way in which you worked through your anger to become the sweet,…read more

  • My advice for the younger me

    To my younger self,

Several years ago, mom and dad moved out of our childhood home and mom sent me a box filled with items from our room that she didn’t know if I wanted to keep or throw away.

As I looked through this box, I found random items like a Mia Hamm Barbie in a package that I never opened and drawings from third or fourth grade. As I d…read more

    • I think Unsealed Conversations is your own network Lauren. Within The Unsealed it serves as a great amplifier of the stories you tell for people. If not a network it’s definitely your own kind of talk show. Without The Unsealed I wouldn’t be taking my crazy old Volvo to be in a movie tomorrow. Most likely I’d be buried the the plot meant for my…read more
